A Look Inside our Annual Hair Braazar Show

Every year, Summit Salon Academy Tacoma takes pride in hosting one of the most exciting and impactful events in the beauty industry—the Annual Hair Braazar Show. This year, on June 27th, the Hair BRA-Zaar was back with a bang, bringing together a community of talented students, alumni, industry professionals, and beauty enthusiasts for a night of creativity, glamour, and ‘FUN’draising. In this blog, we take you behind the scenes of this spectacular event, explore the incredible work of our students and alumni, and highlight the powerful cause behind it all.

A Night of Glamour, Creativity, and Cause

The Annual Hair Braazar Show is not just another hair show; it is a celebration of creativity, talent, and philanthropy. Our talented students and alumni come together to showcase their artistry by designing jaw-dropping hair and makeup looks inspired by popular themes. This year, our theme centered around all things Barbie, offering a canvas for our artists to dive deep into a world of pink, glam, and imaginative transformations. Each creation was centered around a decorated bra, serving as a powerful symbol of breast cancer awareness.

As guests entered the venue, they were greeted by an array of colors, textures, and sounds that immediately set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The energy was palpable, with the buzz of anticipation and excitement filling the room. From ticket sales and donations to the lively silent auction, every aspect of the event contributed to our shared mission of raising funds for a cause that is close to our hearts.

Supporting HairToStay and the Sydney Berry Fund

This year, all proceeds from ticket sales, donations, and the silent auction were directed to HairToStay and the Sydney Berry Fund. HairToStay is the first and only national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping lower-income cancer patients afford scalp cooling, a treatment that can significantly reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss. Since its founding in 2016, HairToStay has provided subsidies of up to $1,500 to more than 4,200 cancer patients across the United States. This treatment helps many maintain their sense of identity and dignity during one of the most challenging times of their lives.

A Spectacular Showcase of Talent and Creativity

The true stars of the night were our incredibly talented students and alumni, who put their heart and soul into their creations. Drawing inspiration from the world of Barbie, each team unleashed their imagination to produce stunning hairstyles and makeup looks that dazzled and amazed the audience. From classic Barbie-inspired blonde waves to bold, avant-garde interpretations of the beloved icon, the variety of styles on display showcased the range and depth of our students’ skills.

A Fundraiser with Heart

The Hair Braazar Show was more than just a showcase; it was a night filled with purpose. Attendees had the chance to bid on exclusive items, with all proceeds directly supporting HairToStay and the Sydney Berry Fund. Each bid and donation brought us closer to our goal of making scalp cooling treatment accessible to all who need it, regardless of their financial situation.
