Social Promoter of the Month: Xiomara Navarrete
We are so excited to announce that February’s social promoter of the month is Xiomara Navarette. She has been working hard to improve her beauty skills here at Summit Salon Academy Tacoma and is learning how to put her social media skills to great use as well.
About Xiomara
Xiomara came to Washington from California. The move was a big change I was adjusting to the weather and trying to figure what I wanted to do for a living.
In the end, Xiomara turned to beauty. She says, “Growing up with 4 older sisters I’ve always watched them get dolled up and that inspired me.”
Xiomara lives with her husband Philip and fur baby Zeus. Her husband Phillip is so supportive of her education that he became her hair model when she started practicing men’s cuts!
Xiomara certainly has a talent for hair and beauty and works hard to improve every day. She has been at Summit Salon Academy in Tacoma for 7 months and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her. We look forward to seeing what else she can accomplish.

The choice to come to Summit Salon Academy in Tacoma was easy for Xiomara. She heard so many great things about the school and had a great impression after taking a tour.
After I visited I was in love. I am so glad I chose this school because I have met some amazing people.
She says the best part about working in beauty is making her clients feel confident and beautiful. She is able to use the skills she learns in the hair program to help others achieve the looks they want.
Xiomara is a great example of how hard work can pay off in beauty. She has been able to put trust in her own education and says the key to success is having patience in yourself and the process.
Using Social Media in Beauty
Today’s beauty professionals need more than a passion for the work. Knowing the basics of building a client base, running a business, and utilizing marketing opportunities is important as well. That is why Summit Salon Academy in Tacoma is proud to be affiliated with the Summit Salon Business Center to help our students understand and gain important client-building strategies.
Xiomara has been using her social media accounts for years to connect with clients and make them feel heard. Now she is utilizing those skills to improve her marketing strategies as a cosmetology student. She tries to post as frequently as she can and uses hashtags to connect with new clients and to get them in her chair.
