Social Promoter of the Month: Bernadeth Rosario

Meet this month’s Social Promoter of the Month: Bernadeth “Bernie” Rosario! Bernie began the Esthetics program at Summit Salon Academy in February and has been performing services for the past 3 months. Before entering the beauty industry, Bernie was a floating medical assistant for two years, working in several different clinics and departments. She decided it was time for a change in her career path which led her to explore Esthetics.

Get to Know Bernadeth

When she isn’t involved in the world of beauty, Bernie spends her time camping, enjoying the outdoors, and making food for her loved ones. Her favorite part of the beauty industry is the mentorship; she loves how everyone is willing to share tips and tricks and can trust they’ll guide her down the right path.

Bernie loves working in the world of beauty because it allows her to help people feel good about themselves! “I want to help people feel good and give them a safe place to be selfish for once,” she says, “You never know what kind of world they’re walking back into when they leave your treatment room.” We couldn’t agree with you more, Bernie!

Bernadeth on Social Media

Social media is a huge platform that brings out our creative side and can serve as a helpful tool for the beauty community. Bernie believes that through social media, beauty professionals can learn from each other, clients can find those professionals faster, and those in the industry can use it as a portfolio. Social media can give followers a sense of what a business/creator is like by what kind of content they post: things like witty captions or even what colors they chose for their theme. Bernie thinks it can also serve as a little time capsule for students to watch how much they’ve grown. Great point, Bernie!

Usually preferring to stay more private on social media, Bernie knew that would change when she started school. “I found so much I wanted to share with everyone, so I try to post at least twice a week,” Bernie says. She loves creating reels, especially with her fellow Summit classmates. Since using her Instagram for beauty school, Bernie has noticed an increase in engagement and followers and thinks it’s fun to encourage everyone and their work.

Advice for Future Students

Bernie wants future students to let go of the idea of being “perfect”. She knows that while students are new and learning, that everyone will get their groove in time and as they continue to practice. She recommends being open to new things because this industry is full of different ways to get to the same outcomes. So, be prepared to learn just about anything and everything. She says to be yourself and be creative! Don’t think too hard about it, just have fun. Great advice, Bernie!
