What is a Green Circle School?

A Green Circle School partners with Green Circle Salons to recover and repurpose the waste created during beauty services and training. At Summit Salon Academy, that means we keep up to 95% of our beauty waste out of landfills and waterways — and we teach our students to do the same.

How much of a difference does this really make?

It makes a massive difference. Green Circle Salons has already diverted over 11 million pounds of salon waste. Every service you perform at our academy adds to this positive global impact.

What happens to the waste collected at our academy?
We collect hair, metal, excess color, single-use items, paper, and plastic separately and ship them to Green Circle Salons. They recycle, compost, or convert these materials into clean energy and new products like sustainable combs.
Will I learn sustainable practices as a student?
Absolutely. Our Certified Sustainable Education program teaches you exactly how to sort and repurpose beauty waste. You’ll earn a Certificate of Sustainable Education to show future employers you’re ready to work sustainably from day one.
Is Green Circle Salons a recognized organization?
