Fashion SOULstice Recap
You may remember our post about Justice and Soul. This Saturday marked the second annual Fashion SOULstice fashion show and Silent Auction. The amazing event featured a live runway show with hair and makeup styles from the best stylists and students in the area. Attendees munched on delicious nibbles and drinks while watching some seriously great hair come down the 70 foot runway. All proceeds from the event benefit the Justice and Soul Foundation’s vocational training programs for children and young women who’ve fallen victim to human trafficking in Cambodia
During intermission, there was not a dry eye in the house. Justice and Soul Co-Founder Mathhew Fairfax told the crowd about his experience building and working in the Kate Korpi Salon and Academy in Phnom Penh.
This organization is doing amazing work. Consider donating.
We are having a MAJOR proud parent moment. We had the opportunity to participate in the show, and our five students (and one recent graduate) blew us out of the water! They more than held their own with stylists from top salons in the Puget Sound region. These six ladies poured their hearts and souls into two amazing looks. We were so impressed with their hard work, talent, creativity and professionalism.
Student stylist Mandy M told us that Team Summit wanted to do two looks that were opposite but complementary.
Alicia’s look was inspired by the tribal fashion looks that are so hot right now. Her hair was styled by Jai G. and her makeup was done by Ashley S.
For Arielle, they opted for an elegant glamorous look that would not be out of place on a Hollywood Red Carpet. Her hair and makeup were done by Nicole I and Mandy M.
