Breast Cancer affects so many people. We would like nothing more than to eradicate it. This is why, on April 6th, things were BRAzarre around Summit. After months of preparation, we presented the First Annual Hair BRA-Zaar! It was a fun evening benefitting Wings of Karen Breast Cancer research. Our talented students and Alumni did AMAZING hair and makeup looks on models wearing decorated bras. Models were Academy Students and Breast Cancer Survivors that WORKED the runway! Lisa Petite spoke to the crowd about Wings of Karen’s mission. It was an awesome and emotional night. One of the most powerful moments of the evening was when each of the survivors shared their story. Instead of being sad, it was inspirational, hopeful, and joyous. We are so grateful that we were able to share in their journey!
This was the kick off to the Wings of Karen 5k Bra Dash. What is that you ask? It is more than a 5k … it’s a race to save lives. 100% of proceeds will directly fund promising local breast cancer research. Participants are encouraged to wear a bra over their race day shirt and toss it triumphantly at the finish line, symbolizing the spirit needed to find a cure. A fun, family event where all are welcome. If you would like to get involved, please join our team for the bra dash! Our team name is Summit Salon Academy! Register here.
Another highlight was the Silent Auction!
